Hello! My name is Olga Profutkina
My paintings are full of humour and irony. I like to depict characters and objects as slightly awkward and clumsy, which makes them exceptionally vulnerable and fragile.
The plots unfold as I work. Sometimes I start with texture, tearing and glueing paper, letting my hand freely wield the brush, and applying layer after layer of paint until I like the background.
Sometimes I start with a blob of paint in which I see the image of the hero of the painting, and sometimes I just want to draw something from childhood.
